We collect the machine, open it on our bench and look at the element, the valves and the seals together. The written quote comes before any repair. Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Seals that dried out while the machine sat. Piston cups, the group gasket and the steam valve packing can harden during a long idle stretch. The first shots after a break then leak at the group or the steam knob. We replace the dried seals as a set and test the machine hot and under pressure.
Stale water and film inside the boiler. Water left in a warm boiler for weeks can leave film and deposits on the walls and the element. We drain, flush and clean the boiler, inspect the element and the fill cap seal, and run fresh water through until it comes out clear.
Safety valve stuck after a long rest. A safety valve that has not moved in months can stick to its seat. It is the part that protects the boiler from overpressure, so we test that it opens at its set point and replace it if it does not.
