Common repairs we handle.
- Burner lights but burns ragged and uneven. A burner cap sitting off-center, or ports clogged by a boilover, gives a lazy, uneven flame and can stop the burner from lighting cleanly. We lift the caps, clear the ports, check the electrode, and seat everything so the flame burns even all the way around.
- Oven thermostat that bakes unevenly or runs low. A gas ILVE oven relies on its thermostat to hold temperature. As it drifts, cakes come out underdone and roasts run long. We check the oven against a thermometer through a full cycle and replace the thermostat if it no longer tracks the dial.
- Door hinges that let the oven door sag. The oven door on an ILVE is heavy, and in a small kitchen it gets bumped and leaned on. Worn hinges let it sag and break the gasket seal, so preheat slows and the door glass heats up. We fit new hinges and a gasket and check that the door closes evenly.

Often, yes. The body and burners of an ILVE hold up well, and the parts that usually fail (switches, thermocouples, elements and controls) can be replaced. We diagnose it first and give you one total price and the expected wait in writing before you commit to anything. -
Can we keep cooking on the burners while we wait for an oven part?
Usually, yes, if the burners light and burn normally. A flame-failure or element fault puts the oven out of use but leaves the burners alone. If you smell gas, leave the house and call 911 and PG&E at 1-800-743-5000 from a safe distance. If a shorted switch affects the whole range, we tell you to leave it off until the part arrives. -
