What breaks. What we fix.
ADRIUM repairs LG refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, and dishwashers across 39 East Bay and Tri-Valley cities, including linear-compressor diagnostics and settlement-program serial lookups. The diagnostic is $75, waived when you book the repair. LG refrigeration has a reputation problem that is mostly earned, mostly fair, and mostly fixable: the linear compressor era from roughly 2014 to 2019 produced a wave of failures that LG eventually issued a settlement program for, and we still see those units and diagnose them honestly.
If your LG French-door fridge stops cooling and the compressor runs but won’t pump, you have a linear-compressor failure. The compressor itself is covered by the extended warranty program through LG direct, but labor often isn’t. We tell you exactly where you sit before we open a single panel. If your serial number qualifies for the program, we will say so.
Post-2020 LG fridges moved off the linear compressor in most lines and the failure rate dropped. Current models (LRMVS series, LSXC22326S) fail at the evap-fan motor and the icemaker assembly. Both are 30-minute fixes.
ThinQ smart connectivity occasionally drops and the unit appears dead from the app. The Wi-Fi module on the door is the part that fails. Replacement is straightforward but rarely worth it as a standalone job. We will do it as an add-on with another repair.
LG dual-inverter front-load washers throw an LE motor-fault when the rotor-position sensor drifts. Sensor replacement is one visit. The unit will sometimes throw a UE unbalance fault that is actually a worn suspension rod, not the load. We test the rods on a service cycle before condemning parts.
The LG top-load washers run a direct-drive motor bolted straight to the basket, no belt, with a clutch shifter that lets the basket and the pulsator turn independently or together depending on the cycle. When that shifter or its sensor wears, you get a tub that will not spin or a wash that will not agitate, and people assume the whole motor is gone. It rarely is. We test the rotor, the stator, and the shifter at the connector before we quote a motor, because the fix is often the shifter assembly, not the drive.
LG ranges have a control-knob spark-switch failure that pops up around year five. Replace, test ignition, done.
Drain Pump Diagnosis, On Camera
Great for laundry, not for the kitchen
We will say it plainly. LG makes some of the best washers and dryers you can buy, and we have no quarrel recommending the laundry. The kitchen refrigerator is a different story, and we will tell you why before you spend.
LG refrigerators carry known compressor reliability issues, well-documented, and newer models have added defrost and fan failures on top. Three things make these repairs harder than they should be. Parts are hard to get, because LG is slow to share diagrams on newer models and keeps changing its parts-authorization process. The warranty got shorter, with the compressor warranty cut from ten years down to one or two. And the root cause is not fixed, because the inverter compressor problem still has not been solved, so a like-for-like replacement can put you back in the same spot.
The split verdict: laundry, LG is a strong choice. Kitchen refrigerator, we do not recommend it. If yours has failed, repairing it often means real money on a unit likely to give the same trouble again. The $75 service call includes full diagnostics and tells you whether the repair is reasonable or your money is better spent elsewhere. We quote before any work.

LG questions, answered.
-
Does my LG fridge qualify for the linear-compressor settlement?
Depends on the serial number and date of manufacture. We look it up before opening a panel. If your unit qualifies, we say so up front. Compressor part is covered, labor often isn't. -
My LG washer throws an LE motor fault. What is it?
Rotor-position sensor has drifted. Sensor replacement is one visit. Don't let anyone sell you a new motor without testing the sensor first. -
Are post-2020 LG fridges reliable?
More so. LG moved off the linear compressor in most lines. Current models fail at the evap-fan motor and the icemaker assembly. Both are 30-minute fixes. -
My ThinQ app says the fridge is offline but it's running. What's wrong?
Wi-Fi module on the door. Replaceable but rarely worth it as a standalone job. We do it as an add-on with another repair.
