What we do. What we fix.
What we do
ADRIUM repairs built-in columns, French-door fridges, wine reserves, and undercounter refrigeration across 39 East Bay and Tri-Valley cities, with sealed-system work done in-house under EPA 608 certification and backed by a 2-year warranty. The diagnostic is $75, waived with repair. Refrigeration is our biggest call category, so the truck carries the parts we use every week: evaporator-fan motors for Sub-Zero 700 series, defrost-cycle drain heaters for Bosch 800, water valves and ice-maker assemblies for GE, Monogram, and Samsung, common door gaskets, and a calibrated digital manifold. We diagnose to the actual failure before we order. We do not parts-swap and hope.
Workflow is the same every call. Diagnose. Quote with parts and labor itemized. Order if needed. Install. Bench-test the repair (a temperature pull-down, an icemaker harvest cycle, a sealed-system leak check) before we close out. Most repairs are one visit. Sub-Zero column compressor swaps and Sub-Zero sealed-system leaks are usually two: one to diagnose and order, one to install and test.
We are EPA Section 608 Universal certified for refrigerant work. R134a, R600a, R290, R744. We recover, evacuate, and weigh-in charge with a scale. No guessing.
Inside a built-in sealed-system repair
A sealed-system leak on a built-in fridge is the repair most techs skip, because it takes EPA certification and the right tools to do it correctly. Here is the actual work: pressurize the line set with nitrogen, find the leaks with soap, then deal with the corroded copper that caused them.
A full sealed-system rebuild looks like this in practice: a 1991 built-in freezer with a failed sealed system and a rusted cabinet, brought back with a new compressor, a new evaporator, and a repainted body. See the full rebuild.
A Water Inlet Valve, On Camera
Common issues. Typical repair.
Sub-Zero 600 and 700 series, evap fan failure. Compressor runs nonstop, food slowly warms. Usually the evap fan motor. We replace with the OEM motor (the aftermarket ones fail in 18 months) and verify the airflow split between fresh and freezer compartments. Two-hour job.
Bosch 800 Series, rattle plus warming. Defrost drain freezes shut, ice builds on the back panel, the evap fan rubs ice. We thaw the drain, replace the drain heater, replace the fan motor. Done in one visit when we have the model number ahead of time.
Samsung RF four-door, no ice production. Almost always the icemaker assembly itself, not the water valve. Samsung has revised the assembly twice; we install the current revision and tell you whether your serial qualifies for the replacement program. One visit.
Sub-Zero built-in, no ice or very little. The ice-maker module reads bin level with an optical sensor and can seize or get fouled, or the cause is upstream: weak supply pressure, a kinked line, or a reverse-osmosis system feeding too little water to the mold. We test supply pressure and run the module through a harvest cycle before we replace anything.
Sub-Zero 736TCI dispenser dead. The vintage control board is discontinued from Sub-Zero direct but available rebuilt through authorized refurbishers. We test the harness and the dispenser switch first because both can mimic the board symptom.
GE Monogram built-in, not cooling or no ice. Panel-ready column or side-by-side that runs but will not hold temperature, often with a warm freezer and a dead ice maker together. Usual causes are the evaporator or condenser fan, a defrost fault, or on post-2015 columns an inverter board that mimics a dead compressor. We test the board before condemning the compressor. Sealed-system rebuilds on a Monogram column are done in-house with a 2-year warranty. See the GE Monogram not-cooling page.
LG and Samsung sealed-system failures. Linear-compressor era LG fridges fail at the compressor itself. We look up the serial for the recall settlement before opening the panel. If your unit qualifies, the part is covered. Labor often is not. We tell you up front.
Wine columns drifting. U-Line and Sub-Zero wine reserves: one zone holds setpoint, the other drifts five to eight degrees. Damper-motor failure on the 2218 and 3036 U-Line series. Condenser-fan motor on Sub-Zero 424 and 427. Verifiable over a 24-hour hold.
Liebherr BioFresh drawer, humidity fault. Usually the humidity sensor or a drawer that is not seated fully on its rail, not the electronic control. We check drawer alignment and the sensor reading before replacing anything. More on our Liebherr brand page.
Built-in refrigerators, water pooling at the base. Not always the compressor. A blocked defrost drain lets meltwater back up instead of draining to the evaporator pan, and it shows up as water on the floor instead of at the clog itself. We pull the rear panel, clear the drain and the channel that feeds it, and flush the line to confirm it runs clean. Often no parts needed, one visit. Recent built-in defrost-drain repair, Palo Alto.

What do customers ask about Refrigeration Repair?
-
Do you carry refrigerant for sealed-system work?
Yes. We are EPA Section 608 Universal certified and the truck carries R134a, R600a, R290, and the recovery and weigh-in equipment. We do not parts-swap on a sealed-system call. We diagnose to the leak before we quote. -
How long does a Sub-Zero compressor replacement usually take?
Two visits. First visit: confirm the compressor is the failure (not the start relay, not a low charge from a slow leak), order the OEM compressor and a new dryer. Second visit: recover the existing charge, replace the compressor and dryer, pressure-test, evacuate, weigh-in the new charge. Typical timeline is five to seven business days end-to-end. -
Is my LG fridge covered under the linear-compressor settlement?
Depends on the serial number and the date of manufacture. We look it up before opening any panel. If your unit qualifies, the part is covered by LG. Labor often is not. We tell you the out-of-pocket cost up front, in writing, before we start work. -
How much for a typical icemaker repair?
GE and Samsung icemaker assembly swaps run $280 to $420 total (parts plus labor). Sub-Zero ice maker on a built-in column is $480 to $640 because the assembly is more complex and access is tighter. One visit in most cases. -
Do you service out-of-warranty built-ins?
Yes. Most of our Sub-Zero and Thermador calls are 10 to 25 year units. The diagnostic is $75 (waived with repair), then we quote the work in writing. -
Do you repair GE Monogram built-in refrigerators that are not cooling?
Yes, it is one of our most common built-in calls. We handle Monogram fans, defrost faults, inverter boards, and full sealed-system rebuilds in-house under EPA #1279674151528, with a 2-year warranty on the sealed-system repair. The $75 diagnostic is waived with the repair.
