What breaks. What we fix.

Common issues

ADRIUM handles GE Monogram refrigerator repair, built-in refrigeration, columns, side-by-sides, and professional ranges across 39 East Bay and Tri-Valley cities, with full sealed-system rebuilds done in-house and backed by a 2-year warranty. We are an EPA-certified sealed-system shop (EPA #1279674151528), and the diagnostic is $75, waived with repair. Monogram is GE’s premium line, built well enough to earn a second life, and on a good unit a rebuild is usually money well spent.

The second life is what sets Monogram apart. When a 20-year-old unit starts to fade, the cabinet and the build are usually still sound. The sealed system is what wears out. We do a full sealed-system replacement and back the work with a 2-year warranty on the repair. That turns an old fridge that is still alive into one good for years more. Plenty of brands aren’t worth that kind of work because the parts aren’t there or the build won’t justify it. Monogram was built to be serviced, and a rebuild on a good one beats replacing a premium built-in.

The corroded copper up close. After fifteen-plus years this is why the sealed-system rebuild replaces the failed run, so you do not pay the labor twice.

The everyday calls track the GE line: inverter boards, the board that drives the compressor, common and fixable. Evaporator and condenser fans. Defrost problems, iced-over coils, stuck defrost cycles. Less often, control boards.

When the freezer goes warm and the ice maker quits at the same time, that is usually one fault, not two. The ice maker rides on the freezer staying cold, so we check the defrost system, the evaporator fan, and the sealed system before we touch the ice maker. Full write-up on the GE Monogram not-cooling page, and the ice side on the Monogram not-making-ice page.

The $75 service call is flat and includes full diagnostics. A straightforward repair like a fan or inverter board runs from $250 plus parts. A full sealed-system rebuild is the larger job, up to $4000 with a 2-year warranty on the repair. We quote before any work, so you decide with the real number in front of you.

Monogram ovens and ranges

Monogram also builds professional gas ranges and wall ovens, and the most common call on those is the bake or broil igniter. A gas oven igniter weakens with age until it glows but no longer draws enough current to open the safety gas valve, so the oven stops heating even though the igniter still lights up. We test the igniter current draw before condemning the valve, replace the igniter, and confirm the burner lights and holds temperature. Oven control boards and oven sensors are the next bucket.

What Sealed-System Work Looks Like

Monogram questions, answered.

  • My GE Monogram is not cooling but I can hear it running. What is wrong?
On a running Monogram that will not cool, the usual causes are a failed evaporator or condenser fan, a defrost fault icing the coil, or on post-2015 columns an inverter board that has quit driving the compressor. The board failure looks exactly like a dead compressor from outside. We test the board outputs before condemning the compressor, which saves you a needless compressor bill. The $75 diagnostic sorts which one it is.
  • My Monogram freezer is warm and the ice maker stopped. What is going on?
That is usually one fault, not two. The ice maker depends on the freezer staying cold, so a warm freezer and no ice together point at a defrost failure, a stalled evaporator fan, or a slow sealed-system leak, not the ice maker itself. We read the freezer temperature and check the evaporator and defrost first. More on our GE Monogram not-cooling page.
  • Do you repair GE Monogram built-in refrigerators, not just the ovens?
Yes. Refrigeration is the bulk of our Monogram work: built-in columns, side-by-sides, fans, defrost, inverter boards, and full sealed-system rebuilds done in-house under EPA #1279674151528. A sealed-system rebuild carries a 2-year repair warranty. We also service Monogram ranges and wall ovens.
  • Is a GE Monogram sealed-system rebuild worth it?
On a built-in column, almost always. The cabinet was built around the unit, and the lead time on a replacement Monogram column runs weeks. A proper sealed-system rebuild gets you cooling again in days and adds years to a unit that is otherwise sound. We give you the honest repair-or-replace numbers before you decide.
  • How much does it cost to fix a Monogram that is not cooling?
The $75 diagnostic includes the full check and is waived when you book the repair. Fan motors, defrost parts, and condenser service run in the mid-hundreds; an inverter board is higher; a full sealed-system rebuild on a column is the top-end job and carries the 2-year warranty. You get the exact part and labor in writing before any work starts. We do not quote a repair price without seeing the unit.
  • Do you come out for Monogram repair in my area?
We cover 39 cities across the Tri-Valley and the East Bay out of San Ramon. Call (925) 999-4095 or book online and we will confirm the soonest window.
