GE Monogram built-in refrigerator repair in Danville
Problem: A customer in Danville has a 2006 GE Monogram built-in, model ZISS420DRISS. After a power outage, the fridge and the freezer both stopped cooling. The fans still seemed to run, but there was almost no frost on the freezer’s back wall. When they wrote to us, they already had a short list of suspects: the compressor inverter, the main control board or the sealed system. They also asked whether we’d take on a refrigerator that old.
Diagnostics: On this model the compressor and the electronics sit up top, behind the grille. Our technician raised the grille and went to work in that compartment. The compressor is a variable-speed Embraco, and its label says to run it only through its own control unit. That control unit is the inverter board. It had burned out, and power fluctuations on the line were what did it. Without that board, the compressor can’t do its job, so nothing gets cold even with the fans running.
Solution: We replaced the inverter board. It was the first thing on the customer’s list.
Result: If your built-in stops cooling right after an outage or a flicker in the power, say so when you book. It points us to the electronics before anything else. We repair Monogram refrigerators in Danville and across the East Bay.
