Menumaster in Vallejo
Menumaster commercial service.
A Menumaster that runs, lights up and counts down but sends food out cold is the classic complaint on these ovens. The magnetron is the obvious suspect, and on a high-use CFT, DEC or RCS unit it does weaken with age. But a shorted high-voltage diode or a tired capacitor gives the same no-heat symptom for a fraction of the cost. So in Vallejo, from downtown to the redevelopment on Mare Island, we test the high-voltage circuit in order before we name a part.
Our technician for this area is based in Benicia, the next town east on Interstate 780. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and it covers the full electrical workup. You see a written quote before any work starts. CSLB #1136642.
Common repairs we handle.
- No heat while the fan and light keep running. We discharge the capacitor, then meter the diode, the capacitor and the transformer windings before judging the magnetron. A water-load test tells us how much heat the oven actually puts out. You pay for the part that failed, not the most expensive guess.
- Door interlock switches worn from constant use. Every close of the door works the interlock switches, and after thousands of cycles their contacts wear or the plastic actuator cracks. The oven may go dead or refuse to start. We replace the switch set together and check the door alignment so the new switches do not wear out the same way.
- Cold spots from a seized stirrer motor. A commercial Menumaster spreads energy through the cavity with a stirrer. When its motor seizes, food heats in patches, hot at one end and cold at the other. We replace the stirrer motor, check the stirrer and its cover, and run a test load to confirm even heating.

FAQ
Menumaster in Vallejo questions, answered.
-
Our Menumaster counts down normally but the food comes out cold. Do we need a new magnetron?
Maybe, but not until the rest of the high-voltage circuit is tested. A shorted diode or a weak capacitor causes the same symptom and costs much less. We test each part in sequence, then quote the one that failed. -
Is it safe for our staff to open the cabinet and look inside?
No. The high-voltage capacitor can hold a dangerous charge after the oven is unplugged, and the transformer puts out several thousand volts while it runs. Leave the cover on. Note what the oven does and any error it shows, and we take it from there. -
Our kitchen near downtown Vallejo has one microwave for the whole line. What should we tell you when we call?
The model number from the label, what the oven does or does not do, and whether it blows a fuse or trips a breaker. That lets our technician bring the likely parts, such as interlock switches, a diode or a capacitor, on the first visit.
