- Preset button wear on the touchpad. Lunch counters live on three or four preset times, and those exact membrane pads wear through first. Staff compensate with creative button sequences until the panel finally quits. We swap the touchpad assembly and set the presets back to the shop's actual menu, which also speeds the line back up.
- Thermal cutout trips in tight counter installs. Los Altos back counters are compact, and a Menumaster boxed in beside warm equipment recycles its own hot exhaust until the thermal protector opens mid-service. The unit mysteriously recovers after lunch, which hides the cause. We clear the airflow, test the cutout for drift, and reposition the unit if the counter allows it.
- Monitor circuit blowing fuses. A Menumaster that eats a fuse every week or two has an interlock sequencing fault, and the monitor switch is blowing the fuse on purpose to keep the unit safe. Replacing fuses is treating the symptom. We replace the interlock and monitor switches as a set and align the door so the sequence runs clean.
