We test each magnetron under load with a milliamp reading, replace the dead tube and its high-voltage diode together, and check the filament connections that vibrate loose after years of nonstop cycles.
HD series dead after a blown internal fuse from worn interlock switches. On HDC12 and HDC18 units the door interlock switches take hundreds of actuations a day. When the switch timing drifts, the monitor circuit shorts the line on purpose and blows the internal fuse. Replacing only the fuse brings the unit back for a week. We replace the full switch set and adjust the door cam so the fuse stops being a monthly expense.
RMS10TS keypad membrane failing from steam and grease. The RMS10TS lives next to fryers and steam wells in a lot of San Jose counters. Moisture creeps under the touch overlay and kills individual pads, usually the most-used preset first. Staff work around it with weird button combinations until the start pad goes too. We replace the membrane and control panel assembly and reload the store's programmed presets before we leave.
