AC Repair in Rodeo

AC Repair in Rodeo.

Rodeo sits on the eastern shore of San Pablo Bay, and the Bayo Vista and Oleum area is mostly small to mid-size houses and townhomes, many built between 1940 and 1969 and some older. Lots are tight, so the condenser tends to end up in a narrow side yard, sometimes right beside the dryer vent or a fence, and in a townhome row the outdoor units may sit shoulder to shoulder.

Placement causes its own failures. Lint from a dryer vent coats a condenser coil, and units packed together trade hot air, so we look at where the unit sits before we open it. We also take cooling calls in Crockett and Port Costa. Rodeo, Crockett and Port Costa are all covered by our technician based in Benicia, and the $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair.

Common repairs we handle.

  • Condenser coil matted with dryer lint. When the dryer vent blows toward the outdoor unit, lint mats onto the coil and chokes airflow. Head pressure climbs and the unit trips or runs warm. We clean the coil, check the fan and the capacitor, and suggest a hood or deflector so the lint goes elsewhere.
  • Townhome condensers trading hot air. Outdoor units set side by side can pull in each other's discharge on a warm day, and the one in the middle suffers most. We measure pressures on your unit, clean its coil, and check its clearances against the manufacturer's installation limits.
  • Small return grille icing the coil. In a small house where cooling was added later, the return grille may be too small for the blower. The system moves less air, the coil runs too cold, and ice forms. We measure static pressure, check the filter size, and quote a larger return when that is the real fix.
  • Heat pump blowing warm on a cooling call. If the house has a heat pump and it blows warm air when you ask for cooling, the reversing valve or its solenoid coil may have failed, or the thermostat may be set up for the wrong changeover. We test the coil, the thermostat signal and the valve before quoting.

FAQ

AC Repair in Rodeo questions, answered.

  • Do you service AC in Crockett and Port Costa as well as Rodeo?
Yes. Crockett and Port Costa are part of the same area we cover with Rodeo. Tell us the address and the type of system, and we book an arrival window.
  • Our dryer vent blows right at the AC unit. Does that matter?
Yes. Lint and warm, moist air land on the condenser coil and cut its airflow. Over a season that raises operating pressure and works the compressor harder. We clean the coil and show you how the vent could be redirected so it stops happening.
  • What happens if our system needs refrigerant?
We find out why it is low first, since refrigerant does not get used up. ADRIUM holds EPA 608 Universal certification, and the work runs in order: leak search, repair, vacuum, then a charge weighed in on a scale. The quote is written before the system is opened.

Pricing HVAC repair starts with a $99 diagnostic, credited toward the approved repair, which makes the service call $0 with a completed repair. Considering a new HVAC system? The in-home estimate visit is free.
