AC Repair in Pinole
AC Repair in Pinole.
Much of Pinole was built in the postwar boom of the 1940s through the 1960s, and few of those houses started with air conditioning. Cooling came later, set on a furnace and ducts sized for heat and wired into an electrical panel that was never planned for a compressor. In Pinole Valley the homes are larger, three bedrooms and up, so the ducts have more ground to cover.
Those add-on details decide a lot of repairs. We check the breaker, the wire and the outdoor disconnect before blaming the compressor for a trip, and the duct connections in the crawlspace before blaming the charge for a warm room. Our Pinole technician is based in Benicia. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and you see the quote in writing first.
Common repairs we handle.
- Breaker trips when the condenser starts. A hard-starting compressor, a failing capacitor, a loose lug in the disconnect or a tired breaker can all trip the circuit. We measure the starting current, look for heat damage on the wiring, and test the capacitor. A hard-start kit helps some compressors; a shorted one means a different conversation.
- Crawlspace duct slipped off a register boot. Under a postwar house, flex duct sags, tears or slips off its boot, and one room stops cooling while the crawlspace gets cold. We check the runs we can reach, reconnect and seal what came loose, and measure the airflow at that register afterward.
- Add-on coil icing over on an older furnace. A coil sitting on an older furnace depends on that furnace's blower for airflow. A slow blower, a dirty wheel or a clogged filter lets the coil ice over. We clean the blower wheel, check its speed setting and capacitor, and confirm the charge once airflow is right.
- Condenser fan not spinning. When the top fan stalls, head pressure climbs and the compressor overheats and shuts off. We check the fan motor, its capacitor and the contactor, spin the blade by hand for bearing drag, and fit a motor matched to the blade and rotation.

FAQ
AC Repair in Pinole questions, answered.
-
Can our older Pinole panel handle a new condenser?
Often it can, but it has to be checked. We look at the panel rating, the breaker and wire size for the condenser circuit, and the nameplate current of the equipment. If the panel is the limit, we tell you before any equipment is quoted. -
Do you service homes in Linda Heights and Pinole Valley?
Yes, and the rest of Pinole: Old Town, Nob Hill, Bay Side and Pinole on the Hill. Let us know whether the furnace is in the garage, a closet or under the house, so we come ready for the access. -
Our Pinole Valley house has one warm bedroom. Is the AC failing?
Probably not the whole system. One warm room usually points to a duct that is crushed, disconnected or too long for the air it gets. We measure that register against the others, look at the duct run, and quote the fix in writing. Refrigerant work, if it comes to that, is done under ADRIUM's EPA 608 Universal certification.
Pricing HVAC repair starts with a $99 diagnostic, credited toward the approved repair, which makes the service call $0 with a completed repair. Considering a new HVAC system? The in-home estimate visit is free.
