Clogged Defrost Drain on KF Bottom-Freezer Columns. Even in a brand-new Los Altos rebuild, the KF column's defrost drain clogs the same way it does in an older house, ice or debris blocking the tube. Defrost water backs up, freezes under the drawers, thaws, and shows up somewhere that looks unconnected to the fridge, sometimes at the base of an island a few feet away. I trace the drain, clear it, and check the defrost heater and timer before closing the column back up.
G Series Dishwasher Drain Pump, Inlet Valve, and Control Faults. G Series dishwashers here fail in three predictable spots: a drain pump that seizes or clogs and leaves standing water at the end of the cycle, an inlet or aquastop valve that fails and either won't fill or trips the flood pan, or a control board that posts a fault code. I check the code first and order the exact part instead of swapping parts to guess.
MasterCool Column Airflow Restriction and Compressor Overload. New-build kitchens in Los Altos sometimes box the MasterCool column into custom millwork to hit a clean design line, and the vent clearance Miele specs gets shorted. The compressor can't shed heat, runs long, overheats, and trips the thermal overload or short-cycles. I check the venting before touching the sealed system, since a new compressor in the same tight cabinet just fails again.
