Amana built-in refrigerator service in Hillsborough
Problem: The owner found us through a Google search and sent a request about their Amana built-in refrigerator. After defrosting, the freezer was cool but not freezing. It’s a built-in side-by-side with custom panels on the doors, model S148CA03.
Diagnostics: Our technician went through the unit, and the dust was hard to miss. One of the air slots was packed with lint, and inside the machine compartment the tubing and the wiring were all under a thick layer of dust. A condenser coated in dust can’t shed heat the way it should, so the whole system has to work harder to hold temperature.
Solution: We cleaned the condenser coil and the drain line, then checked how the refrigerator and the freezer were running. No parts were replaced on this visit.
Result: The condenser coil and the drain line are clean. When a freezer is cool but won’t freeze, a dirty condenser is one of the first things a technician looks at, and built-ins like this one can collect a lot of dust over the years.
