All burners clicking when you light one. On Star Burner cooktops and ranges this is almost always a shorted spark ignitor switch or moisture in the switch harness, and salt air in Alameda accelerates it. The whole switch bank wires in series, so one bad switch makes every ignitor fire. We replace the failed switch or the harness and test each valve position before we leave.
Spark but no flame on a Star Burner. The star shape gives Thermador great flame distribution and also five extra port channels to clog. Boil-overs bake into the ports, the flame cannot travel from the spark point, and you smell gas before it lights with a whump. We clear the ports, check orifice condition, and verify the spark module output, because a weak module shows the same symptom.
Freedom column frosting up or warming. T18 and T24 columns in Alameda's older homes often sit in tight alcoves with poor airflow. Frost on the back panel points to a defrost fault, a warming cabinet with the fan running points to the evaporator fan or sealed system.
