Dishwasher Repair in Clayton

Dishwasher Repair in Clayton.

Clayton grew in stages, from the 1970s expansion to Dana Hills and Clayton Wood in 1987 and Peacock Creek from 1996, where the homes are mostly large. A larger or remodeled kitchen may hide its dishwasher behind a custom cabinet panel: a Thermador, Miele or Cove built to disappear into the cabinetry. Panel-ready machines bring their own faults, and most of them start at the door.

Clayton gets treated Delta water from the Contra Costa Water District, and on every visit we look at the filter, the spray arms and the valve screen for buildup. Our technician for Clayton is based in Benicia. Your $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and nothing is replaced before you approve the written quote.

What the work looks like

A dishwasher leaking from the pump and sump.

The base of a dishwasher, where the circulation pump, sump, and diverter live. A worn pump seal, a cracked sump, or the diverter lets water past and onto the floor.

Common repairs we handle.

  • Custom panel sagging and the door popping open. A heavy wood panel adds weight the hinges were not set for. The door drifts out of line and the latch lets go in the middle of a wash. We re-shim the hinge and adjust the door spring tension for the actual weight of the panel.
  • Door springs worn out under a heavy panel. The springs that balance the door wear sooner when they carry a panel. When the door slams down or will not rest half open, we replace the springs and cables on both sides and set them for that panel.
  • Everything wet at the end of the cycle. Wet loads can come from an empty rinse aid dispenser, a failed heater or drying fan, or loading that traps water. We check the rinse aid and the heater and test the drying system before ordering parts.
  • Top-edge controls not responding. A panel-ready machine keeps its controls on the top edge of the door. When the buttons stop responding, the cause may be moisture in the touch panel, a failed door switch or the control. We dry and test the panel and the switch first.

FAQ

Dishwasher Repair in Clayton questions, answered.

  • Can you adjust the dishwasher door after we changed the cabinet panel?
Yes. A new panel often weighs more or less than the old one, and the springs need resetting to match. We check how the door balances with the new panel, set the springs and adjust the latch so the door closes and stays shut.
  • Why do our glasses spot even with Contra Costa Water District water?
Any tap water can leave spots as it dries. Rinse aid and a clean filter handle most of it. If spots turn into white crust on the spray arms or the door, we check the fill valve and the heater at the visit.
  • Do you service Cove dishwashers?
Yes. Cove is one of the brands we repair, along with Thermador, Miele, Fisher & Paykel and GE Profile. A panel-ready Cove comes out of its opening with floor protection, so the cabinet and the floor stay clean.
