Samsung washer 3E error in Berkeley
Problem: A customer in Berkeley called about their Samsung front-load washer. It needed a repair, and the display was showing 3E.
Diagnostics: On Samsung washers, 3E (and its cousins 3C and 3E1) points at the motor circuit. That code doesn’t always mean the motor is bad. The same code can come from the wiring between the control board and the motor, a loose connector, or the board that drives the motor. Replacing a motor because of a code alone is how people end up paying for two parts.
So our technician tested the motor before talking about parts. The testing confirmed it: the drive motor itself had failed. This washer was built in 2017.
Solution: We quoted a drive motor replacement. The job is straightforward: power off, take out the failed motor, fit the new one, reassemble and run a full test cycle.
Result: The owner approved the motor replacement after we confirmed the fault. Fitting the new motor and running a test cycle were the next steps.
