Samsung dryer repair in Alamo
Problem: A homeowner in Alamo called us about their Samsung electric dryer, a DV52J8700EP with MultiSteam and VentSensor. They had a guess before we came out: the thermal switch or the belt.
Diagnostics: Our technician opened the cabinet and took the drum out. A grey coat of lint had settled over the blower housing and the floor of the cabinet. The drum support rollers and the idler pulley needed replacing. The rollers hold the drum up while it turns. The idler is the spring-loaded wheel that keeps the belt tight. The vent hose behind the dryer needed replacing too.
Solution: We put in new drum support rollers, a new idler pulley and a new vent hose, then put the dryer back together and ran it. It worked the way it should.
Result: The dryer runs again. We also told the owner that the vent duct connections behind the wall and under the floor weren’t installed right. They should be fixed so air moves freely and lint doesn’t pile up. If your Samsung has VentSensor and warns about the vent, check the hose behind the dryer for a kink or a loose joint first.
