Bertazzoni range repair, burner igniter cleaning
Problem: A Los Altos Hills homeowner called about their Bertazzoni Master Series 48-inch all-gas range, model MAST486GGASXE. One of the burners had stopped lighting, and the igniter was not doing its job at that burner.
Diagnostics: Our technician removed the burner cap and inspected the igniter electrode. Residue had built up around the electrode and the burner head, and the spark could not reach the burner ports the way it should. The gas supply and the rest of the ignition circuit checked out fine.
Solution: The fix was careful cleaning rather than parts. The technician cleaned the igniter electrode, cleared the burner head and its ports, reseated the caps and the rings, and tested ignition across the cooktop. Nothing needed to be replaced.
Result: Every burner now lights instantly with an even flame, and the customer kept the original Bertazzoni components. On an imported Italian range that matters, because replacement parts can take weeks to arrive, and this visit ended the same day it started.
Igniter trouble is the most common call we get on Bertazzoni ranges. A burner that clicks without lighting, or stops sparking at all, very often comes down to buildup on the electrode rather than a failed part. That is why we clean and test before ordering anything, so you are not waiting on an imported component you never needed.
If your Bertazzoni burner will not light, sparks weakly, or keeps clicking after the flame is out, we can help. Our technicians service Bertazzoni ranges, ovens, and cooktops across Los Altos Hills and the wider Bay Area, with a $99 diagnostic credited toward the repair.
