Amana gas range burner tube replacement in San Leandro
Problem: This is an older white Amana gas range with four burners. The owner told us mice had chewed the wiring at two of the burners. They’d already taken care of the mice and booked a visit to have the range checked.
Diagnostics: Our technician confirmed the model from the rating plate, AGR5330BAW3, then lifted the cooktop to get at the gas system underneath. Each burner gets its gas through a thin aluminum tube running back from its valve. The tubes feeding both front burners were damaged and broken, and both needed replacing to get safe, proper gas flow back to those burners.
Solution: We replaced the gas and venturi tube assemblies for the front-left and front-right burners. The venturi is the short section where gas pulls in air on its way to the burner. With the new assemblies in, we checked the gas connections for leaks and then tested ignition and flame on the burners.
Result: Both front burners have new supply tubes, the connections passed the leak check, and ignition and flame were tested before the job was closed out.
Two damaged burner tubes on an older range are a parts-and-labor repair, not a reason to buy a new stove. We repair Amana gas ranges in San Leandro and across the East Bay under CSLB license #1136642.
