G Series Dishwasher Drain Pump and Inlet Valve Faults. In the townhomes around the lagoons, a G Series dishwasher that won't drain or won't fill is the call I get most, and in a kitchen this size there's usually no dishwasher backup, so it's the first thing the homeowner wants fixed. I pull the fault code and check the drain pump and inlet valve before I open anything up.
KF Column Defrost Drain Clog. The humidity off the lagoons keeps moisture levels a little higher around these kitchens than you'd get further inland, and the KF column defrost drain clogs from it just like it would from any other humidity source. Water pools behind the evaporator and shows up as a puddle at the base of the unit. I clear the drain and check the heater element before calling it done.
T1 Heat Pump Dryer Condenser Clogging. The stacked laundry setups in the newer condo towers near Metro Center run a Miele T1 heat pump dryer in a closet with no exterior vent, so the condenser clogs with lint faster than a vented setup would ever see. Cycles start running long or the clothes come out barely warm, and I pull the condenser and clean it before I look at the heat pump itself.
