- KF Column Defrost Drain Clog. The bottom-freezer KF columns I work on in Belmont clog at the defrost drain the same way they do everywhere, but on a hillside lot the water that backs up doesn't always show where you'd expect. It can travel along a sloped subfloor and puddle a few feet from the fridge, which throws people off. I trace the drain line, clear it, and check the defrost heater before I close the panel back up.

In the bigger remodeled kitchens near Hallmark Lane, a MasterCool column that's drifted a few degrees warm usually comes down to a weak evaporator fan or a slow leak in the sealed system. I pull temperature readings at the coil and check compressor amp draw before deciding which one it is, since replacing a fan on a unit that's actually leaking refrigerant just gets me called back.
- G Series Dishwasher Inlet Valve and Control Faults. G Series dishwashers here mostly fail at the inlet valve, which sticks and either won't fill or trips the flood safety float, or at the control board, which throws a fault code partway through a cycle. I read the code off the display first.
