What breaks. What we fix.
ADRIUM repairs KitchenAid built-in French-door refrigerators, commercial-style ranges, and wall ovens across 56 Bay Area cities, with a $99 diagnostic waived when you book the repair. KitchenAid is the upscale side of the Whirlpool group, and most of the parts platform is shared with Whirlpool, Maytag, and Amana underneath the trim. That matters because the diagnostic playbook carries across those brands: same compressor lineage, same control-board families. Dishwashers are the one category where that shared platform doesn’t carry over to what we’ll service, more on that below.
Built-in French-door fridges (KRFC, KBFN) run the same linear compressor lineage that took LG sideways for a few years. KitchenAid units made between 2017 and 2020 saw the same compressor failures, and the symptom is identical. Compressor runs, won’t pump, both compartments warm up over 24 hours. We confirm with a clamp-on amp draw on the compressor and a discharge-line temperature read before we condemn the part. If the unit qualifies for the platform-wide settlement program, we tell you up front.
One parts note that saves a wasted visit on the built-in models: the old main control boards, the W10219463 and the 2252159, are discontinued and no longer sold as a bare board. Whirlpool replaced each with a redesigned service kit, a different kit per model group, so the right repair is to order the kit, not to chase the obsolete board number. We match the kit to your model and serial, since the build plant (a serial starting Q or S) and the model decide which one fits.
A sealed-system leak on a built-in fridge is a different repair from a board or a part swap. Here is what the diagnosis actually looks like: pressurize the line set with nitrogen, find the leaks with soap, then deal with the corroded copper underneath. A sealed-system rebuild on a built-in KitchenAid refrigerator is backed by a 2-year warranty.
KDFE and KDTM dishwashers are not a repair we take on, and that’s a permanent policy, not a slow-week thing. It isn’t a knock on how they clean. It’s the economics: parts pricing on a KitchenAid dishwasher, measured against what the machine costs new, makes a repair a bad buy more often than not, and we’d rather tell you that before a diagnostic than after. Dead spray-arm pressure, a bad recirc-pump-motor assembly, whatever the cause, replacement is the honest answer, not a service call from us.
KFGC commercial-style ranges (the 36-inch and 48-inch dual-fuel units) have a convection-fan thermistor that mis-reads above 425 degrees. Oven runs hot, food burns at preset temp, owner blames the oven entirely. The thermistor is a 20-dollar part and a 30-minute job. KFGC sits at the professional tier, $1,500 and up new, which is exactly where range and oven repair pencils out for us; it’s the one range line under the KitchenAid badge we’ll always quote a fix on.
KOSE wall ovens fail at the lower bake element about year six. No glow from the bottom of the cavity, oven cycles cold, broiler still works. Element replacement is straightforward if we have the model number when we book. KOSE runs well above our $1,500 oven-repair threshold, so it’s fully in scope.
Counter-depth side-by-side fridges fail at the icemaker and the door-in-door hinge linkage. Both are stocked parts and both close in one visit. Everything in this lineup, the built-ins and the counter-depth side-by-sides alike, sells well above our $1,000 threshold for a mainstream refrigerator repair, which is why we take these calls without hesitation and start sealed-system work at $500.
Furnace or AC due for attention too? That’s our Bay Area HVAC Service division, and if you’re facing a system replacement, the assessment visit is free.

My KitchenAid built-in fridge isn't cooling but the compressor runs. What is it?
Likely the linear compressor failure that hit 2017 to 2020 production. Same lineage as the LG settlement units. We confirm with clamp-on amp draw on the compressor and a discharge-line temperature read. If your unit qualifies for the platform settlement, we tell you up front. -
My KDFE dishwasher has no spray pressure. What's broken?
Recirc-pump-motor assembly. Pump runs, makes the right sound, no pressure. Replacement is two hours single-visit. We also test the float switch and the inlet valve while the unit is open. -
My KFGC range runs hot above 425. Is the oven shot?
No. The convection-fan thermistor mis-reads at high heat. Twenty-dollar part, 30-minute job. We replace and verify with a calibrated thermocouple. -
My KOSE wall oven doesn't heat. What is it?
Lower bake element fails around year six. No glow from the bottom, oven cycles cold, broiler still works. Element replacement is straightforward with the model number ahead of the appointment.
