Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Common repairs we handle.

Condenser fan giving out in summer heat. A condenser fan that slows or stops lets heat build around the compressor, and the fridge warms through the afternoon. We test the fan motor, clean the coil, and measure the compressor current under load before we blame anything else.
Start relay, overload or capacitor on a hot compressor. A compressor that clicks and hums, then shuts off, may have a failed relay, overload or run capacitor, and heat speeds that wear. We test each part and the windings, and replace the small part when the compressor itself still checks out.
Sub-Zero 600 or 700 series with a failed evaporator fan. On these built-ins, a compressor that never stops while food slowly warms usually points to the evaporator fan motor. We fit the OEM motor and check the airflow split between the fresh-food and freezer sections before we close up.
Dual-zone wine unit with one zone drifting. When one zone holds and the other drifts, the cause is often a damper motor or a condenser fan. A wine unit in a hot garage or a sunny bar area works harder than it should. We run a temperature hold to see which zone fails and why.
