Refrigeration Repair in Alamo

Refrigeration Repair in Alamo.

Round Hill and Stone Valley run Sub-Zero columns, and a lot of them are old enough to sit in the sealed-system and condenser-fan window. What we see in 94507 is the standard aging-column story. The condenser fouls behind the grille. Head pressure climbs. The compressor labors and the box loses its setpoint. We recover, find the actual fault, weigh-in the charge on a scale, and hold a 24-hour vacuum. No guessing on a $12,000 column.

Westside Alamo, closer to Las Trampas Creek, runs different stock. The mid-century houses and later remodels carry KitchenAid and GE Profile side-by-sides and French-doors. Those calls are everyday: a dead icemaker, a frozen defrost drain, a drain pump. Single-visit fixes most of the time. We carry the common evap-fan motors and gaskets on the truck so the routine ones close out the first trip.

What the work looks like

A built-in sealed-system leak repair.

Nitrogen pressure and a soap-bubble test on a built-in fridge line set. We map every leak source before we braze.
The corroded copper up close. After fifteen-plus years this is why a real fix rebuilds the sealed run, so you do not pay the labor twice.

Brazing a new line onto the compressor during the same kind of sealed-system repair. Recover, braze, evacuate, and recharge: the real fix, done as one complete job.

Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Sub-Zero 600/700 sealed-system service. Compressor or evap-side leak on Round Hill and Stone Valley built-ins. Recovery, weigh-in, 24-hour vacuum. Usually two visits: diagnose and order, then install and test.
  • Condenser fouling and fan-motor swap. Classic 36 and 48 inch units after a blocked grille. Coil cleaned, condenser-fan motor replaced, head pressure verified.
  • KitchenAid and GE Profile icemaker. Westside no-ice calls. We test the water valve, fill tube, and icemaker module to find which failed instead of swapping all three.
  • Frozen defrost drain on side-by-sides. Ice on the freezer floor or back panel, evap fan rubbing. Drain thawed, heater replaced, fan motor swapped in one visit.

FAQ

Refrigeration Repair in Alamo questions, answered.

  • Can you get to Alamo same day?
Often, yes. Drive time from San Ramon is ten to fifteen minutes, so same or next-day is realistic when we have a window. We text the confirmation with the truck arrival window so you are not waiting around all afternoon.
  • My Sub-Zero column holds the fridge but the freezer is warming. What is that?
On the 600 and 700 series that split usually points to the evap-fan motor or a sealed-system charge issue, not the control board. We verify the airflow split between compartments and check the charge before we quote, so you pay for the part that actually failed.
  • Do you do sealed-system work in-house or sub it out?
In-house. We are EPA Section 608 Universal certified, carry a calibrated digital manifold, and recover and weigh-in the charge ourselves. Compressors and evaporators we source per job because they are unit-specific.
