Commercial Ice Machine Repair in Danville

Commercial Ice Machine Repair for Danville kitchens.

Danville summers are full Tri-Valley, with afternoons in the 90s. An air-cooled ice machine pulls its condenser air from the room it sits in, and a back room that is warm at noon is hot by the time dinner service starts. Head pressure climbs, the freeze cycle stretches and the bin never quite catches up.

Before anyone talks about the compressor, we compare the room temperature, the condenser and the head pressure with what the machine is rated for. A clean coil and a clear air path come first. Where the room simply runs too hot, a water-cooled or remote-condensed machine may be the honest answer, and we say so in writing. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and you see a written quote before any work begins.

Common repairs we handle.

  • High-pressure shutdown late in the afternoon. Grease and dust load the condenser and the air filter, the room heats up and the head hits its pressure limit. We clean the coil and filter, check the condenser fan and read head pressure at the hottest part of the day if that is when it fails.
  • Water-cooled condenser wasting water. On a water-cooled machine, a regulating valve meters water through the condenser by head pressure. A valve stuck open sends water down the drain nonstop, and a scaled condenser runs hot despite the flow. We adjust or replace the valve and descale the condenser.
  • Hoshizaki KM falling behind in July. Summer heat and a scaled evaporator stack up. EBMUD water slows the scale, but a KM that has gone a year without deliming still loses output. We delime, clean the condenser and measure production against the spec sheet.
  • Compressor overload tripping on hot days. When head pressure stays high, the compressor runs hot, and its overload opens, resets and trips again. We find the cause first, a dirty coil, a slow fan or a low charge, and test the start components before anyone condemns the compressor. ADRIUM holds EPA 608 Universal certification for the refrigerant side.

FAQ

Commercial Ice Machine Repair in Danville questions, answered.

  • The ice machine is fine until about 3 p.m. and then quits. Is it dying?
Probably not. A machine that fails on schedule with the heat is usually losing the fight with its condenser air. We clean the coil, check the fan and read the head pressure during the hot part of the day. If the room itself is the problem, we tell you.
  • Would a water-cooled ice machine suit our hot back room?
It can. A water-cooled condenser is far less affected by room heat, but it runs water through the condenser, and the regulating valve and the condenser need upkeep. A remote-condensed machine is the other route. We lay out both in writing with what each would need in your space.
  • Do you cover kitchens on the 94506 side as well as near downtown Danville?
Yes, both ZIPs, 94506 and 94526, from the older neighborhoods near downtown to the estates on the Blackhawk perimeter. Every repair is quoted in writing first. CSLB #1136642.
