Hoshizaki ice maker drain and condenser cleaning in Fremont
Problem: A restaurant in Fremont found us through a Google search and wrote in about the Hoshizaki ice maker that feeds their soda fountain. It was leaking water, and they couldn’t tell from where: it was coming out from under the machine and from the sides. They also wanted regular service done on it.
Diagnostics: The ice maker is a Hoshizaki KMD-460MAH sitting on top of a Cornelius ice and beverage dispenser. Our technician saw the water leaking from the side and the bottom of the setup. There was a lot of moisture under the equipment, and water damage there already. The drain system and the inside of the unit had heavy buildup, and the condenser air intake was heavily contaminated. A drain with that much buildup is a common reason water ends up under a machine.
Solution: We cleaned and flushed the drain system and cleaned the condenser coil.
Result: The drain system has been flushed and the condenser coil is clean. On a restaurant ice machine, the drain and the condenser are two of the parts that get dirty fastest, so they belong on a regular cleaning schedule. We service Hoshizaki ice machines in Fremont and across the East Bay.
