- Clogged Defrost Drain on KF Bottom-Freezer Columns. The KF column's defrost drain is a common failure we see in Castro Valley, whether it's a hill home with a newer install or a flats home with an older one. Ice chips or debris block the drain tube, defrost water backs up and freezes under the drawers, then thaws and shows up as a puddle on the kitchen floor or inside a cabinet base well away from the column itself. I trace the drain, clear it, and check the defrost heater and control before closing it back up.
- G Series Dishwasher Drain Pump, Inlet Valve, and Control Faults. G Series dishwashers here fail in one of three predictable spots. The drain pump seizes or clogs and the cycle ends with standing water in the tub, the inlet or aquastop valve fails and either won't fill properly or trips the flood safety pan, or the control board throws a fault code on the display. I check the code first and order the specific part instead of guessing at what's wrong.
- MasterCool Column Airflow Restriction and Compressor Overload. In some of the newer hill remodels, the cabinetmaker boxes the MasterCool column tighter than the vent kit spec allows to hit a clean design line, and the compressor pays for it later. It can't shed heat properly, runs long, overheats, and trips the thermal overload or starts short-cycling. I check the venting before I touch the sealed system, because a new compressor behind the same tight panel just fails again.
