- Clogged Defrost Drain on KF Bottom-Freezer Columns. The KF column's defrost drain clogging is a call we take out of Blackhawk, same as anywhere else Miele installs one, but in these larger kitchens the leak often shows up at the far end of an island or under a wine fridge nowhere near the actual column. Water backs up in the freezer, freezes under the drawers, thaws, and finds the lowest point to drip out. I trace the drain, clear it, and verify the defrost heater and timer are cycling before closing it up.
- G Series Dishwasher Drain Pump, Inlet Valve, and Control Faults. Blackhawk's G Series dishwashers see regular use in kitchens built for entertaining, and the failures land in the same three spots: a seized or clogged drain pump leaving standing water at the end of the cycle, a failed inlet or aquastop valve that won't fill or trips the flood pan, or a control fault throwing a code. I read the code off the display first and order the exact part instead of swapping components on a guess.
- MasterCool Column Airflow Restriction and Compressor Overload. Custom cabinetry built for a specific design line sometimes boxes the MasterCool column in tighter than the vent kit calls for, even in a newer Blackhawk build. The condenser can't shed heat properly, the compressor runs long, overheats, and trips the overload protector or starts cycling more than it should. I check the venting before touching the sealed system, since replacing a compressor behind the same panel just repeats the problem.
