Spillover from the Mountain View tech corridor means some of these homes also run higher volume entertaining than a typical residential account.

It's a longer drive from San Ramon, so we plan Los Altos calls alongside nearby Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto, or Menlo Park stops when the schedule allows. Written quote before any repair, and the $75 diagnostic is waived once you approve the work.

Condenser Coil Fouling and Capacitor Failure. Downtown Los Altos restaurant kitchens are tight spaces, and the ice machine often sits close enough to cook line heat that condenser fouling builds faster than in a quieter setting. Head pressure and amp draw climb as airflow drops, and the run capacitor fails first once that stress crosses its rating. On estate home units I check cabinet ventilation instead, since built in installs often have the same airflow problem for a different reason.
Water Inlet or Drain Blockage. Estate home units that see occasional heavy entertaining volume can develop a partially restricted water inlet that goes unnoticed at low daily use and then trips a low production alarm the night it matters most. I check the full water path as part of any pre event service request.
Auger Motor and Gearbox Wear. Boutique restaurant kitchens downtown put steadier cycles on the auger motor than a home unit does, so gearbox wear shows up sooner there, usually as reduced bin fill with the machine otherwise running normally. Amp draw testing under load tells me whether it's the motor or gearbox before I quote parts.
