How often should the condenser coil be cleaned?

Every three months is the cheapest insurance for a machine in a working kitchen, and a dusty or greasy spot may need it more often. It is a short job, and it saves the capacitor and the compressor.

Is the slime in our bin dangerous to leave?

It should not be in ice you serve. Stop using the ice, and we will clean and sanitize the machine and find where the growth started, often a drain or a water line that has gone uncleaned.

Common repairs we handle.

Coil so dirty the capacitor failed. A packed condenser drives up head pressure and amp draw until the run capacitor gives out. Replacing the capacitor alone just starts the clock again. We clean the coil, replace the capacitor and check the compressor's current for signs it took damage.
Biofilm in the water path and bin. Pink or dark slime in the bin or on the chute means the water path has gone too long without a sanitize. We clean and sanitize the full path, change the filter and show your staff which parts they can wipe down between services.
Auger drag from years of scale. Even on EBMUD's soft to moderate water, years without a descale leave mineral in the cylinder. The auger drags, output drops and the gearbox wears. We descale first, then test auger current to see whether the gearbox came through.
