A piece of glass or a chip of ceramic that gets past the filter chews the impeller, and you hear it grind at the end of the cycle. I pull the sump, clear the check valve, and replace the pump when the impeller shows damage.
Control board and touchpad failures on older remodels. A lot of the Bosch units in the Westlake and Top of the Hill remodels are old enough now that the control board or the touchpad ribbon is starting to fail on its own, not from a leak or a jam. Buttons that do not respond, or a cycle that starts and then resets itself, points at the board before it points at the pump.
