Bosch in San Bruno
Bosch in San Bruno kitchens.
San Bruno splits between the hill neighborhoods, Rollingwood and Crestmoor, where remodeled kitchens run 500 and 800 Series Bosch refrigeration, and the flatter blocks closer to El Camino and the Tanforan area, where Bosch shows up as the mid-range upgrade next to older builder stock. Being this close to SFO does not damage the appliances, but it does mean I schedule around a lot of households where someone works airline or airport hours.
The door hinges and gaskets are what I see fail first in San Bruno more than in some other Peninsula towns, plain wear and tear from daily use in houses that open the fridge dozens of times a night rather than a few times a day.
San Bruno sits between South San Francisco and Millbrae on our route, so getting a truck here on a normal week is not a special trip.

Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Upper rack wheels and adjuster clips wearing out. Daily-use households wear through the rack wheels and the height-adjuster clips faster than the pump or the heater ever fails. A rack that drags, tilts, or will not lock at height is almost always the wheels or the clip, not a motor problem. I replace the worn hardware and check the rail for damage from years of the same drag.
- Induction cooktop overheat shutdown, F47 or E5. Same failure I see across the Bosch induction lineup. Grease or dust blocks the cooling vent behind the front trim, the power module overheats, and the cooktop cuts out mid-cook. If the vent run is choked we say so and point you to a vent cleaning service, that is not a trade we perform; a new fuse without airflow just blows again.
- Door spring or cable failure, door will not stay open or slams shut. The door counterbalance springs and cables wear out on higher-use units, and when one side goes, the door either will not hold open or slams down hard enough to worry you. I replace both springs as a pair even if only one has failed, since the other is usually close behind it.

FAQ
Bosch in San Bruno questions, answered.
-
Is San Bruno in your regular coverage area or do I need to wait a long time for a truck?
San Bruno is on our regular Peninsula route, right between South San Francisco and Millbrae. Our technician for this area lives in San Mateo, so this whole stretch gets covered on a normal week, not just when someone happens to be nearby. -
Do you carry rack wheels and hardware parts, or is that a special order?
We stock the common rack wheels, adjuster clips, and door spring pairs on the truck because they come up so often. Most rack and door hardware calls in San Bruno are single-visit for that reason, and the $99 diagnostic is waived when you book the repair. -
My fridge door drops and slams shut on its own now. Is that dangerous or just annoying?
It is more annoying than dangerous, but I would not ignore it. A worn door cam means the hinge carries the closing load unevenly, and the gasket usually starts leaking air not long after. I replace the cam and check both hinges when I see one has gone.
