Dacor 48-inch range bake igniter replacement in Danville
Problem: A homeowner in Danville has a 48-inch Dacor gas range with two ovens. The large oven had stopped baking. The broiler still came on, but on bake nothing happened. The small oven worked fine, so they could still cook, just not in the big one. The range is eight or nine years old, and the owner already had a guess: the igniter.
Diagnostics: The broiler worked, and so did the small oven. That points at the parts only bake uses, starting with the bake igniter. On an oven like this, the igniter has to glow hot before the gas valve will open. A worn one can still glow a little and never let the burner light.
Our technician took out the oven bottom panel to get at the bake burner. The bake igniter was faulty. Here the owner was right.
Solution: We replaced the bake igniter in the large oven and put the oven back together. Then we ran it on bake. It lit and heated the way it should.
Result: The large oven bakes again, and the whole range is back in use. If your gas oven still broils but won’t bake, mention that when you call. It tells us where to start.
