We test the heater and the thermostat for continuity, check the defrost control, and look at the drain under the evaporator, since a frozen drain can ice everything up again. The failed part is replaced and the ice melted out before restart.
Cabrio stopping mid-fill with a code. In an older house, rule out the supply first. Old shutoff valves behind the washer can be partly closed or crusted, and the Cabrio quits when it cannot fill in time. We check the valves and hoses, then the inlet valve and the water level sensor, and replace the part that fails.
Dryer drum that thumps or squeals. A rhythmic thump or a high squeal as the drum turns comes from worn drum rollers, a dry idler pulley or a stretched belt. We open the cabinet of the WED or WGD, spin each roller by hand, and replace the worn parts as a set.
