The symptoms wander: random warm-ups, a display that resets, a compressor that ignores the thermostat. I rule out sensors and wiring first, because a board is the most expensive guess on the parts list, and then replace it only when the measurements say board.
Condenser choked after years without service. A U-Line that has run ten years in a San Leandro kitchen without one condenser cleaning is running hot, loud, and long.
