Up in the Hayward hills, it is owner-occupied homes with a Wine Captain built into the kitchen or a bar area, treated well and serviced on time. Down in the flats and around Cal State East Bay, it is compact U-Line refrigerators and beverage centers in rental units and backyard ADUs, and those units get run hard by tenants who never clean a condenser grille. We fix both, and we do not lecture anybody about it.

I replace the gasket, thaw the evaporator completely, and confirm the door closes flat on its own weight.
Condenser blocked at the front grille. Hayward's dry summers plus carpet lint plus a floor-level intake equals a felted-over condenser coil. The unit runs constantly and still cannot hold temperature. Cleaning it properly means pulling the unit forward, not poking a brush through the grille, and pulling a built-in U-Line forward without damaging the cabinetry is exactly the thing we are careful about.
PTC start relay burnout. The rhythmic click-pause-click of a failed start relay is the single most common U-Line complaint we hear in Hayward. The compressor tries to start, trips its overload, cools down, and tries again. Left alone it will eventually take the compressor with it. Caught early, it is one part and one visit, and the unit goes back to work the same day.
