U-Line in Emeryville

U-Line in Emeryville kitchens.

Emeryville living is mostly condos: the Watergate high-rises and mid-rises at the marina, and the newer buildings along the Shellmound corridor. A U-Line in one of those kitchens is usually a wine reserve or an undercounter ice maker fitted flush into cabinetry, with a neighbor below. That last part matters. A slow drip from an inlet valve fitting or a drain line turns into somebody else's ceiling stain.

So on an Emeryville visit we look at water first: the valve, the fittings, the drain pump or gravity line, and the floor under the unit. Then the refrigeration. Book with your building's rules in mind, since some want contractor details in advance or an elevator reservation. ADRIUM is authorized service for U-Line, our technician for the area is based in Benicia, and the $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair after you approve a written quote.

Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Common repairs we handle.

  • Ice maker inlet valve leaking at the fitting. The water inlet valve can weep at its fittings or fail inside. In a condo it is the first thing we check, with the supply shut at the stop. We replace the valve or the fitting, turn the water back on, and watch the connections stay dry before the unit goes back in.
  • Flush-inset wine reserve that has to come out. Flush U-Line installs leave little room at the edges. We remove the toe-kick and trim screws, protect the panel edges, and slide the unit straight out on a pad. It goes back at the same height and gap, so the door lines up with the cabinets.
  • Beverage center glass fogging over. Fog on the glass means humid room air is getting past the gasket, or the cabinet is set colder than the room can handle. We check the gasket seal, the door alignment and the setting, and replace the gasket if it has flattened.

FAQ

U-Line in Emeryville questions, answered.

  • Our Watergate building wants to know who is working in the unit. What can you send?
We send the company name and CSLB #1136642 ahead of the visit and follow whatever check-in the front desk uses. Tell us the building rules when you book so the appointment fits them.
  • Can a leaking U-Line ice maker damage the condo below ours?
It can if the leak runs long enough. Shut the supply valve under the sink or behind the unit and put a towel down. We find whether the water comes from the inlet valve, a fitting or the drain, and fix that before anything else.
  • Do you take the U-Line away to a shop for repair?
No. Undercounter U-Line units are repaired in your kitchen. We carry common gaskets, fans and damper motors, and order anything else once the written quote is approved.
