- Scaled booster element and a cold final rinse. When the rinse on an HC or DBC washer runs cool, we check the booster element, its thermostat and the rinse-aid pump before anything else. A scaled element that still reads right can be descaled; a burned one gets replaced. We also look at the wash pump so the next cycle runs at full temperature.
- Back-bar cooler holding warm after the gaskets stretch. Perlick back-bar and Tobin Ellis Signature units use a forced-air evaporator that ices over once a door gasket stops sealing. The cabinet warms while the coil turns to ice. We defrost the coil, fit new gaskets, and check that the drain carries the melt away.
- Glycol chiller running but beer pouring warm. If the glycol chiller runs normally and the beer still pours warm, the trouble is usually in the trunk line or the glycol mix. We test the glycol percentage, flush a drifted bath, and re-insulate any section of trunk line that has soaked up condensate.
