Perlick in Martinez
Perlick commercial service.
Martinez has quietly become a beer town. The taprooms and bars around downtown Main Street pour a lot of local pints, and the back-bar refrigeration behind those pours is heavily Perlick. Downtown's older buildings add their own factor: aging electrical service that feeds refrigeration equipment low or dirty voltage, which shortens compressor life in ways owners rarely suspect. Commercial calls here run through our division, Bay Area Refrigeration Service.
From San Ramon, Martinez is about 30 minutes straight up 680, inside our regular Diablo Valley loop. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, quote in writing before work starts.

Common repairs we handle.
- Compressor failures traced to old-building electrical. Several Main Street storefronts run refrigeration on circuits that sag under load. A compressor starting at low voltage draws high current and cooks its windings over months. I measure voltage under start, and if the circuit is the root cause I document it so the fix is real, not repeated.
- Taproom back-bar cooler with an iced-over evaporator. Humid nights, constant door traffic, and tired gaskets load the coil with frost until airflow dies. The cabinet reads warm while the coil is a block of ice. Defrost, gasket replacement, and a drain check put the unit back on cycle.
- Glycol power pack struggling on a multi-tap draft wall. Taprooms running long-draw systems live and die by the glycol bath. When it warms, every one of a dozen taps foams at once. I service the power pack, check glycol concentration, and verify temperature at the farthest faucet on the run.

FAQ
Perlick in Martinez questions, answered.
-
How long does it take you to reach Martinez from San Ramon?
About 30 minutes north on 680. Martinez routes with Pleasant Hill and Concord in our Diablo Valley loop, so same or next-day slots are usually available. Friday and Saturday night emergencies get phone triage right away. -
Can you service our draft wall without shutting the whole taproom?
Usually yes. Most power pack and refrigeration work can run while part of the wall stays pouring, and I schedule the disruptive steps for your slow hours. Tell me your open times and I plan around them. -
What does the paperwork look like for a commercial repair?
We provide a written repair estimate after the on-site diagnosis and before any work starts, an invoice for the same total after, 1-year repair warranty, CSLB #1136642, EPA 608 Universal for refrigerant handling. Commercial jobs run under Bay Area Refrigeration Service, our commercial division.
