- Back-bar cooler iced over behind a torn gasket. A torn or stretched door gasket lets warm, damp air into the cabinet, and the forced-air evaporator frosts until air stops moving. We melt the ice, replace the gasket, check the evaporator fan, and make sure the drain can carry the water off.
- Draft system losing cold between the chiller and the tap. Glycol that has drifted weak or trunk-line insulation that has taken on water lets beer warm on the way to the tower. We test the glycol percentage, flush and refill if it has drifted, and replace soaked insulation so the beer holds its temperature all the way to the faucet.
- Door rebuilt instead of replaced. When a back-bar door sags or will not close, the cylinder and hinge cartridge are usually worn, not the door itself. If the panel is sound, we rebuild it with new hardware and gaskets, which costs less than a new door and puts it back to closing on its own.
