The failure I get called on most in Richmond is the sealed system on the built-in refrigeration. The box drifts warm, the compressor runs long, and frost collects on the back wall of the freezer. On a Monogram that usually comes down to a refrigerant leak or a worn compressor, not a clip-in part. Warm box on a built-in column or side-by-side. This is the call I get most in Richmond. A Monogram built-in starts running warm, the compressor cycles long or never stops, and you find soft ice cream in the freezer and frost building on the back panel. On these units it usually points to a slow refrigerant leak or a failing compressor inside the sealed system. Because we are EPA 608 certified, we pull the refrigerant, find the leak, replace whatever failed, and charge the system back to spec. These built-ins are made to be rebuilt, so this is repair work, not a reason to junk a cabinet-depth unit.
Professional range burner that will not light. On a Monogram gas range the burner clicks but does not catch, or one burner stays dead while the others fire. Most of the time it is a fouled or cracked igniter, a burner cap seated wrong, or a spark module losing output. We clean and reseat what we can, test the igniter against spec, and replace the module or igniter when the reading is out. We check the safety valve at the same time, so a burner is not passing gas without a flame.
Built-in ice maker stops filling. The ice bin goes empty and the maker sits quiet. On Monogram refrigeration the common causes are a fill tube frozen shut, a dead water inlet valve, or a worn ice maker head. We thaw and inspect the line, test the valve for flow and voltage, and swap the module if the cycle will not complete. We also check the water filter and the line back to the shutoff, since a lot of no-ice calls are really a supply problem.
