Condensate that should leave through a small drain can back up and pool in the bottom of the cabinet, and a dual-zone unit can let one zone creep warm while the other holds. Water collecting under the bottom rack of a wine column. The evaporator in a wine cabinet sheds water on every cycle, and that water should run out through a drain to a tray near the compressor. Dust and debris can plug the drain, and then the water stays inside. We clear the line, reseat the tray and watch a cycle to make sure it drains and dries.
Fog on the inside of a wine cabinet's glass door. Condensation inside the glass means room air is getting in. A gasket flattened on the hinge side, or a door that closes a little out of square, is the usual path. We check the seal all the way round, adjust the hinge and fit a new gasket if the old one will not spring back.
Built-in column in a Vintage Hills remodel short-cycling. Short, frequent compressor runs on a built-in column often come from a temperature sensor that has drifted, so the control starts and stops cooling at the wrong moments. We compare the sensor's reading with a thermometer in the cabinet, check its connector and test the board's output. Then we replace the part that is actually out of range.
