After 2020 most LG lines moved off that compressor, and current models such as the LRMVS series and the LSXC22326S fail at the evaporator fan motor and the icemaker assembly instead. Evaporator fan motor on a newer LG French-door. When the freezer is cold but the fresh-food side drifts warm, or a ticking comes from behind the freezer panel, the evaporator fan motor is the usual suspect on post-2020 models. We test it, check the fan blade for ice, and replace the motor.
Icemaker assembly that stopped making ice. EBMUD water is soft to moderate, so scale is rarely the cause here. We check the fill, the inlet valve and the freezer temperature, run the icemaker's own test, and replace the assembly if it fails.
