Hoshizaki in South San Francisco
Hoshizaki commercial service.
South San Francisco is an industrial and biotech city first, and the Hoshizaki fleet reflects it. Campus cafeterias at the biotech buildings run high-capacity KM-901 cubers that almost never fully shut down between shifts. The airport-area hotels along Grand Avenue and near the freeway keep bar cubers and undercounter ice for room service going around the clock. Grand Avenue itself has its own strip of restaurants with more ordinary duty cycles, which is the easy half of my week here.
Near-continuous duty changes what breaks first. On a machine that barely gets a rest, the water pump motor bearing wears out sooner than the manual's service life would suggest, and the hot gas valve on a big KM-901 takes more harvest cycles per week than a restaurant unit sees in a month. I plan maintenance around actual run hours here, not a generic calendar interval.
ADRIUM Service Solutions works out of San Ramon, CSLB #1136642, EPA 608 certified for refrigerant handling. The $99 diagnostic is waived when the repair is booked, written quote before work starts. We run the Peninsula seven days a week, and coverage extends to Brisbane, which sits just north of South San Francisco on the same route.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Water pump motor bearing wear from continuous duty. A campus cafeteria or hotel bar machine that never really shuts off wears its pump bearing out well ahead of a typical restaurant unit. The tell is a growl or whine before the harvest cycle stalls out entirely. I replace the full pump assembly, not just the motor, since the bearing surface is part of the housing.
- Hot gas valve hang on high-volume KM-901 cubers. On the bigger cubers feeding a hotel bar or a campus dining hall, the hot gas valve takes the most cycles of anything in the machine. When it starts hanging, harvest stretches out or aborts and cubes stay stuck to the plate. I isolate the valve, test coil resistance against spec, and replace with OEM. Aftermarket coils on this valve fail early.
- Reach-in evaporator fan motor failure in prep kitchens. Catering prep kitchens and tighter hotel back-of-house spaces run reach-ins with limited clearance around the evaporator coil. Airflow gets blocked by product or packaging stacked too close, the fan motor overheats, and the cabinet drifts warm until the high-temp alarm trips. I check clearance, clean the coil, and test the motor under load.

FAQ
Hoshizaki in South San Francisco questions, answered.
-
Can you get to South San Francisco quickly, and do you reach Brisbane too?
Yes to both. We have a technician based in San Mateo County, so South San Francisco is a local call for us now, not a drive up from San Ramon. Brisbane is right next door and runs the same route. I don't promise a fixed arrival hour on the phone, but the tech isn't crossing two bridges to get to you. -
We can't take a full campus cafeteria down for hours. Can you work around that?
That's normal here. Tell me your service windows when you call and I'll schedule around them. Most of the repairs I've listed above are an hour or two of actual hands-on time once I have the part, so I plan the visit to fit your kitchen's dead window rather than making you shut down mid-shift. -
What's the diagnostic cost for a South San Francisco service call?
It's $99, and it's waived when you approve the repair. I write the quote after I've had the panel off and actually seen the fault, so the number reflects your machine, not a phone guess.
