Hoshizaki in Redwood City
Hoshizaki commercial service.
Redwood City splits into two very different Hoshizaki populations. Downtown around Courthouse Square, the restaurants and bars run KM cubers hard through dinner and the late crowd the theater district brings in. A few blocks over, the office campuses along Broadway and Marshall Street run DCM cubelet dispensers in their break rooms, machines that get pressed by a lot of people and looked after by almost nobody.
The two failure patterns don't overlap much. Downtown, it's the classic scale problem, production sliding quietly until a Friday rush outruns the machine. In the office break rooms, it's the dispenser side, an auger that grinds its bearings out and jams the chute with fused cubelets because the water system hasn't been cleaned since install. I treat them differently because they are different problems wearing the same brand name.
ADRIUM Service Solutions works out of San Ramon, owner-operated, CSLB #1136642, EPA Section 608 Universal certified. Diagnostic is $99, waived when you approve the repair, written quote before we start, and we schedule around your hours 7 days a week.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- DCM dispenser auger jam in office break rooms. A Broadway-corridor office break room dispenser gets used by dozens of people a day and cleaned by no one, so the auger bearing wears and the chute jams with cubelets fused together from a fouled water side. I rebuild the auger assembly, descale the reservoir, and hand facilities a cleaning interval they can actually follow instead of ignore.
- KM cuber scale from downtown restaurant volume. A Courthouse Square kitchen running through dinner and the theater crowd puts real hours on a KM cuber, and the evaporator plate scales up quietly under that load. Output drops before anyone notices, then a busy Friday exposes it. I descale the plate and water lines, then verify a timed freeze-harvest cycle so the recovery is a number, not a guess.
- Bin float sensor overfill on weekend volume. Downtown restaurants pulling steady weekend traffic run their bins closer to full more often, and a fouled bin sensor or float either short-cycles the machine or lets it overfill. I clean and test the sensor, recalibrate it against the bin's actual capacity, and check that the machine is reading the bin correctly rather than guessing.

FAQ
Hoshizaki in Redwood City questions, answered.
-
Why does our office break room ice dispenser keep jamming?
On the DCM-style cubelet dispensers common in Redwood City office kitchens, a jam almost always starts as an auger bearing worn down by cycle count and gets worse when the water side hasn't been cleaned. I rebuild the auger, descale, and sanitize in one visit, and give facilities a realistic interval instead of a once-a-decade cleaning schedule that never happens. -
Is a Hoshizaki repair going to be covered under some manufacturer program if we're a downtown restaurant?
We're not a Hoshizaki-authorized shop, so we can't file manufacturer-warranty claims on your behalf. What we do is diagnose it correctly, give you a written quote, and do the repair with OEM parts where it matters, like hot gas valve coils. If the unit is new enough that a factory warranty might still apply, I'll say so before you pay us for anything. -
How fast can you respond to a downtown Redwood City restaurant with a dead ice machine?
We have a technician based on the Peninsula now, in San Mateo County, so Redwood City is a local call rather than a trip up from San Ramon. You'll get a written arrival window when you book, built around that day's actual route, not a promise made over the phone. We take calls every day of the week.
