Fisher & Paykel in Alameda

Fisher & Paykel in Alameda kitchens.

Alameda kitchens are a specific problem. A lot of the housing stock is Victorian and Craftsman, and the kitchens were never designed for a 24-inch full-height dishwasher. That is exactly why so many Alameda remodels ended up with a Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer, single or double, tucked under a counter that could not take anything else. When that drawer stops locking, you cannot swap it for a generic box without redoing cabinetry, so repair is usually the right call.

We service the whole island, from the Gold Coast Victorians to the newer Bayport homes, plus the cafes and small restaurants around Park Street that run DishDrawers as sanitizing backup units. I also see a growing number of ADUs and in-law units in Alameda backyards with compact integrated Fisher & Paykel refrigeration, and those need EPA Section 608 certified hands when the sealed system is involved. I hold the Universal certification.

ADRIUM Service Solutions is run by me, Andrew Kuznetsov, CSLB #1136642. The diagnostic is $75 and we waive it when you approve the repair. You get a written quote before any work starts, and repairs carry a 1-year warranty.

Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • DishDrawer lid actuator failure, F1 fault. On double DishDrawers the lid actuator is the signature failure, and it usually shows up around year five. The drawer will not lock, F1 flashes, and the cycle refuses to start. We replace the actuator assembly rather than forcing the lid, because a jammed lid can crack the tub flange.
  • ActiveSmart integrated fridge evaporator fan. Integrated Fisher & Paykel columns in Alameda remodels often develop a ticking or grinding fan noise, then the fresh food section runs warm. The evaporator fan motor ices up or wears its bearing. I test it under load before condemning it, since a defrost fault can mimic the same symptom.
  • DishDrawer drain pump blockage. Alameda's older drain plumbing sends debris back at check valves more than people expect. A DishDrawer that hums at the end of a cycle and leaves water in the tub usually has a jammed drain pump impeller or a clogged filter plate. We clear it, test the pump amperage, and replace the pump only if it actually failed.

FAQ

Fisher & Paykel in Alameda questions, answered.

  • How fast can you get to Alameda from San Ramon?
We come over I-580 through San Leandro and Oakland, then through the tube onto the island. Plan on 35 to 40 minutes outside rush hour. I usually pair Alameda visits with Oakland and San Leandro stops on the same run, so morning slots are the easiest to book. We work 7 days.
  • My DishDrawer flashes F1 and will not start. Is that the actuator?
F1 with a drawer that will not lock is the classic lid actuator symptom on units around five years old. But F1 is also the flood fault, so I check the base pan for water first. If the pan is dry and the lid will not seat, the actuator is the likely part. The $75 diagnostic confirms it and is waived with the repair.
  • Do you charge extra for the bridge or tunnel trip onto the island?
No. The $75 diagnostic covers the visit anywhere in Alameda, and it is waived if you go ahead with the repair. The written quote you approve is the price you pay.
