Cooper&Hunter in San Ramon

Cooper&Hunter heating and cooling in San Ramon.

San Ramon is where we are based, so this is home turf. The city runs from newer master-planned homes in Windemere and Gale Ranch to the older 1970s and 1980s houses around Twin Creeks. It is hot inland Tri-Valley, and while most homes have central air, plenty add a Cooper&Hunter ductless head for a converted room, a home office, or a hot upstairs bedroom.

We service these systems all over San Ramon, often same or next day since we are right here. Summer heat works the cooling side, so any flare leak or marginal charge surfaces quickly. Cooper&Hunter is a budget line that does well when installed and charged right, and the watch-item I am honest about is parts lead time versus the premium ductless brands.

ADRIUM is based in San Ramon and runs HVAC through Bay Area HVAC Service. I am EPA 608 Universal certified, the $75 diagnostic is waived with the repair, quotes are written, and we are out 7 days.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Flare leak on a hot upstairs zone head. In San Ramon's two-story homes the upstairs head works hardest in summer, and that is where a Cooper&Hunter flare leak shows first as weak upstairs cooling. We pressure test, re-flare the joint, evacuate, and weigh in the charge so the upstairs holds temperature on a hot day.
  • Outdoor unit tripping on high pressure. A fouled condenser coil or a weak fan capacitor raises head pressure and trips the unit on the hottest afternoons. We deep-clean the coil, test the fan motor and capacitor, and confirm pressures stay in range under full summer load.
  • Indoor sensor fault on a home-office install. Office and converted-room heads run long hours, and the coil or room thermistor drifts and causes short-cycling or a sensor error. It is a cheap part and a quick swap once confirmed with a meter, and far more common than a refrigerant or compressor fault.

FAQ

Cooper&Hunter in San Ramon questions, answered.

  • You are based in San Ramon. How soon can you come out?
Often same or next day, since this is our home base. We cover San Ramon along with Danville, Alamo, Dublin, and Pleasanton on our regular Tri-Valley rounds, so scheduling here is the easiest of anywhere we serve.
  • Most San Ramon homes have central air. Why would I add a Cooper&Hunter?
For a space the central system fights to reach, a converted garage, a bonus room, a hot upstairs bedroom, or a home office you want on its own zone. A single ductless head handles that room without re-ducting the house. We confirm the room load before quoting.
  • Why is the upstairs always hotter than the rest of the house?
Heat rises and the upstairs gains the most through the roof, so the head up there carries the biggest load and is the first to show a charge problem. We check the upstairs zone's charge and airflow specifically when that is the complaint.
