Cooper&Hunter in Dublin

Cooper&Hunter heating and cooling in Dublin.

Dublin is mostly newer construction, 1990s through current subdivisions out east, with some older stock near downtown. Even these newer homes call for ductless when an owner finishes a bonus room, builds an ADU, or wants a home office that does not fight the central thermostat. Cooper&Hunter is a budget pick for those single-zone add-ons.

The equipment works when it was installed and charged right. In newer Dublin homes the install is usually cleaner than in old housing, but I still find flare leaks where the original installer rushed the connections or skipped the torque wrench. Newer house does not mean a perfect mini-split install.

Dublin sits inland at the east end of the valley, so it gets hot and dry in summer like Livermore and Pleasanton next door. These heads run a heavy cooling load. That is what exposes a marginal charge, so I check refrigerant weight and superheat before assuming anything bigger is wrong.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Flare leak on an ADU or office install. ADU and office mini-splits in Dublin often get installed as a side project where the flare joints were not torqued to spec. They leak slowly and the head weakens in the heat. I reflare with the right tool, vacuum the system, and recharge by weight.
  • Condenser tripping in east-valley heat. The east end of Dublin bakes in summer. A condenser with a dirty coil or tight clearance trips on high pressure and shuts off. I clean the coil, check the fan motor and capacitor, and fix the airflow so it runs through the hot afternoon.
  • Indoor head leaking condensate water. When a Cooper&Hunter head drips inside, the condensate drain is usually clogged or the line lost its slope. I clear and flush the drain, check the pan and the slope, and confirm the wall penetration sheds water away from the room properly.

FAQ

Cooper&Hunter in Dublin questions, answered.

  • How long does it take you to reach Dublin from San Ramon?
Dublin is close, about 15 to 20 minutes from San Ramon down I-680 to 580. We route it with Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Livermore, so the Tri-Valley east end is a regular same-week run.
  • Can you add a Cooper&Hunter mini-split to a new ADU?
Yes. A single-zone ductless is a clean way to heat and cool an ADU or office without tying into the main system. We size it to the space and back a new install with 10 year parts and 10 year labor.
  • My head drips water inside. Is that a refrigerant problem?
No, that is almost always a clogged condensate drain, not refrigerant. I clear and flush the line and check the slope. Diagnostic is $75, waived with the repair, and the work carries a 1 year warranty.
