I strip the grind path down, clean or replace the burrs if they've worn past spec, and reset the dose against a scale so it's accurate again, not just close.
Scaled boiler slows heat-up and cools the group. Same as most of the Peninsula, San Mateo water is moderately hard, and the twin boilers on the Dual Boiler and Oracle scale up from the inside.
