Commercial Refrigeration Repair in Danville

Commercial Refrigeration Repair for Danville kitchens.

Danville summers run full Tri-Valley, with afternoons in the 90s and hotter runs every year. For a restaurant near downtown, that heat lands on the condensing unit on the roof or behind the building just as dinner service loads up the box. A condenser that coasts through spring starts losing ground by July, and the first parts to give are the ones that live with the heat: run capacitors, contactors and condenser fan motors.

We check those first on a summer call, then look at the coil. A condenser matted with dust and leaf litter raises head pressure and cooks the next capacitor too, so we clean it before calling the job done. The diagnostic is $99, credited toward the repair, and the quote is in writing before we start. ADRIUM holds EPA 608 Universal certification, which covers leak repair and recharging on the sealed system.

Common repairs we handle.

  • Condensing unit tripping on high head pressure in July. Heat on the roof plus a dirty coil pushes pressure past the limit, and the safety control shuts the unit down. We clean the coil, check the condenser fan motor and blade, and read the pressures once it has run a full cycle.
  • Run capacitor swollen or reading low. A capacitor that has dropped below its rating makes the compressor or fan motor run hot and start hard. We test it with a meter, replace it with the correct rating and check the contactor points while the panel is open.
  • Walk-in cooler warm at the back shelves. Product stacked against the evaporator blocks the air, and the back of the box warms while the door side reads fine. We check the evaporator fan motors, clear the coil face and show the kitchen where to leave space.
  • Contactor chattering or stuck closed. Pitted contacts can weld shut and run the compressor nonstop, or chatter and burn out the coil. We replace the contactor and look for the cause, often low voltage or a failing thermostat on a hot afternoon.

FAQ

Commercial Refrigeration Repair in Danville questions, answered.

  • Why does our Danville walk-in only struggle in the summer?
Because the condensing unit has less margin when the air around it is in the 90s. A dirty coil, a weak fan motor or a slightly low charge can go unnoticed in April and fail in July. A spring coil cleaning plus a check of the capacitor and contactor catches most of it.
  • Can shade or a screen help a rooftop condensing unit?
Shade helps, as long as air can still move freely through the coil. A screen or wall too close makes the unit recirculate its own hot exhaust. We look at the clearance around it and tell you what the manufacturer calls for.
  • Do you replace compressors on walk-ins, or only small parts?
Both. When a compressor has failed, we quote the replacement in writing, including recovery, evacuation and a weighed-in charge. If the rest of the system is worn out too, we say so before you decide.
